About the Site

The bulk of the art in these comics was inspired by drawings done by my late nephew Eli. It’s my goal to keep the absurdity level of the comic somewhere that a five year old would find reasonable, especially a five year old like Eli.

Aristotle said that a person only truly dies when their influence is no longer felt. This is my way of keeping Eli around just a little bit longer.

How This Works
The comic is done using a combination of stamps, Gimp, and Inkscape.
First I try to think I’m funny and make a general layout of the thing.
Then I clunk it out with my stamps on Bristol board. Usually dipping my hands in ink a few times along the way.
Then I scan the stamped image using Gimp and clean up all of the crap that I got on the board besides the required stamps.
Most of the work is done in Inkscape, as it gives me a chance to actually have straight lines and a font people can read.
Then export back to Gimp for more cleanup and saving down to a reasonable file size and off to the internet.
Is it me or is that an awful lot of steps and technology to produce a comic that doesn’t normally involve any drawing?
