Usually it’s best to keep the cast of any continuing series to a bare minimum. Historically the addition of new cast members has been the hallmark of a story in decline. Of course, there are exceptions.
Walt Kelly’s Pogo Possum had a handful of regular characters who were with the strip pretty much from start finish. However, over the course of the strip he added hundreds of supporting cast who made regular appearances. And Pogo ran from the late 40′s until Kelly’s death in 1973.
Now, I’m nowhere near as clever or talented as Walt Kelly, but I don’t think Stamp of Adventure is dying, just yet. I just wanted to add some new people, and start introducing more color. Of course that means next years book will be more expensive.
My proof copy has been shipped and I’m really just waiting to see how the guts look before I make it public. I’ve already fixed an error on the back cover.
And let’s not forget the Stamp of Adventure store at CafePress. There’s a link to it on the right hand side for your purchasing convenience. Wouldn’t a nice Stamp of Adventure T-Shirt make an awesome Christmas gift? I think all I’m giving my family this year is merch from the site.
If you want to be incredibly nice without spending any money you can vote for my comic by clicking the Topwebcomics link. Free, easy, and painless. Can it get better?
See you on Thursday.
